Experience of BCC Armenia team in ecosystem accounting

BCC Armenia team has experience in adaptation of SEEA-EA methodology at national and regional levels due to multi-year project “TEEB-Russia” (2013-2023). It has been implemented by the Biodiversity Conservation Center (Moscow) in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (Dresden) and was commissioned by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) with funds from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU). The main results of TEEB-Russia project are presented on the website http://teeb.biodiversity.ru/en/.

Based on the analysis of currently available data, we propose the main groups of indicators of ecosystem extent/condition and ecosystem services.

Ecosystem extent and condition including biodiversity indicators

Ecosystem services valuation and mapping

Correlations between indicators of ecosystem extent/condition and services

Examples of management implications of ecosystem accounting data
